Pilot seat for Wajer

The request

In the summer of 2022 CoverWorks approached us to produce the carbon shells of the pilot seat for Wajer. As a leading specialist in luxury upholstery for yacht building, CoverWorks was looking for a partner who could support their high-end upholstery with a technically refined and aesthetically strong base frame.

More than a cover

The Studio Bouwmeester design emphasises the elegant, multifunctional rear of the seat. The carbon shell is not a loose cover — it forms the structural heart of the pilot seat.

We immediately improved the laminate build-up, making the shell not only visually cleaner — with fewer visible fibre directions — but also more durable and stiffer.

Series production that keeps improving

Since then we have produced around 200 pieces per year, continuously refining the product. Among other things we optimised the inserts for upholstery and armrests, resulting in a more efficient assembly process. A stylish combination of high-end upholstery and composite precision.
